CastMe is a broadcasting and teleprompter application. This policy describes what data we collect, how we collect it, and how we use it.
1. Data we collect
- Account: name, email, organisation if you belong to one, sign-in credentials.
- Scripts and notes: text you type or import for the teleprompter.
- Camera and microphone: used on-device to preview, present, and record when you grant permission. We do not access camera or mic in the background. Recordings you save stay under your control unless you explicitly upload them.
- Device and usage: device type, OS, crash logs, diagnostics.
- Purchases: Apple processes payments; we receive subscription status.
2. How we collect it
From you in the app; from the device when you grant camera or microphone permission; from Apple for purchases; from email if you contact support.
3. How we use it
- To provide prompting, presentation, and recording features (contract).
- To sync scripts across your devices if you enable an account (contract).
- To secure the service and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
We do not sell recordings. We do not use your camera feed for advertising.
4. Sharing
Hosting and infrastructure processors; Apple; people you choose to send a recording or script to. We do not publish your presentations.
5. Retention
Account and synced scripts last while the account is active. Local recordings remain on your device until you delete them. After account deletion we remove server-held personal data as described on delete an account.
6. Your rights
UK GDPR rights apply. You can revoke camera and microphone access in iOS Settings. Email hello@softwareengineertechnology.co.uk.
7. Children
CastMe is not directed at children. A parent or school using it for a classroom should not create accounts for children without a lawful basis.
