1. What we collect
From this website we may collect:
- Identity and contact data you send via forms or email (name, email, company, message).
- Technical data created by your browser (IP address, user agent) in server logs held by our hosting provider.
- A necessary cookie recording that you acknowledged this site’s cookie notice.
We do not currently run advertising pixels or analytics on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and the cookie policy.
2. Why we use data
- To reply to enquiries and provide support (legitimate interests and/or steps toward a contract).
- To operate, secure, and debug the website (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations (company, tax, and consumer law).
3. Sharing
We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions, including web hosting (for example Namecheap) and, if you use the enquiry form, FormSubmit or your email provider when a mailto fallback is used. We do not sell personal data.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
5. Retention
Enquiry emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 24 months), unless law requires longer. Server logs follow the host’s standard rotation.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and you may withdraw consent where we rely on it. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Children
This website is not directed at children. Knot is 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
